JOY ENIOLA
Joy is a Nigerian-Irish disciple of Christ who recently moved to Accra, Ghana following a call to fulltime ministry. Through Listen with the heart, her unique set of gifts, skills and training intersect with the needs of the body. Joy is gifted with the ability to be uniquely present with people, holding space for them while guiding them to Jesus.
Joy has had the honour of journeying intimately with people of all ages and backgrounds across the globe in professional, voluntary and personal capacities. Her career spans nearly twenty years of work with young people, families with children, the elderly, women in shelters, people in addiction, and people experiencing homelessness. She has worked with several NGOs, Christian ministries and in local government. Many of her roles have involved the design and delivery of training projects.
Joy’s qualifications include a Higher Diploma in Integrative Christian Counselling and Psychotherapy; BA (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy; MA in Family Support; and a professional certificate in Training and Continuing Education.
As a therapist, she has supported clients through depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, anger, low self-esteem, identity and cultural crises, transition, loss, dysfunctional family dynamics, and faith related issues.
Prior to moving to Ghana, she was an Accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Her MA thesis focused on church network support for vulnerable believers and her research highlighted the need to equip Christian leaders and believers to provide emotional support in faith based settings.
